GTR Dream

Heaven? They have landed and are currently sitting and waiting in Jacksonville, Florida to embarass cars twice their cost across the US. Hopefully one of those is ours *cough*.

NSX

The spies at KGP Photography have captured the first shots of the next Acura NSX in its prototype form. The NSX was seen being driven hard and even caught lifting a wheel off the Nurburgring in Germany. Word has it that Honda is demanding the NSX beat the current record held by the GTR around the Nurburgring.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. wins

Dale Earnhardt Jr. was completely winless for the last 76 races until this past weekend when he won the LifeLock 400 at Michigan International Speedway. Junior won the race in an odd way, literally coasting across the finish line on an empty tank of gas under a caution flag after Patrick Carpenter spun out on lap 203. Rather than do burnouts afterwards on the track, Earnhardt’s #88 Hendrick Motorsports Chevy had to be pushed to Victory Ciricle.

Lancer Sportback

Mitsubishi will unveil the production version of its Lancer Sportback and Lancer Sportback Ralliart at the Paris Motor Show in early October. The Lancer Sportback is a five-door hatchback version of the recently redesigned Lancer model that’s currently on sale.

Valentio Rossi’s new helmet

Rossi made sure that he was seen at the Italian Grand Prix at Mugello. Current series point leader and seven-time Grand Prix World Championship title winner Valentino Rossi. His helmet features a roughly life-size portrait of The Doctor himself in the middle of a scream, it was pretty hard to miss him.

RWD Subaru

Inside Line is reporting that the new, RWD coupe being developed by Subaru and Toyota will only be sold as a Subaru in markets outside of Japan, while the Toyota version will remain exclusive to Japan. Toyota and Subaru are using the Integra Type-R as the performance benchmark for the new coupe. The coupe will debut in 2011 and pricing is expected to begin just south of $20,000.
