One Lug Wheels

Real racing cars use wheels with a single central retainer to facilitate quick changes. The One Lug Wheels system appears to be like similar systems. There’s a hub adapter that is secured to the lugs, which then allows the fitment of the appropriate wheels. The clean look of the wheel is the only street-bound benefit. The whole system adds unsprung weight, and probably increases the sideload on the wheelbearings. Not only that, the safety margin that multiple fasteners deliver is negated in favor of a stylish wheelnut. One Lug Wheels will soon be offering its wheels and mounting system to the buying public.

2008 Fairlady Z 380RS-Competition

Nissan has finally put a price tag on the 2008 Fairlady Z 380RS-Competition with a stroked version of the VQ35HR V6. The 3.8-liter mill is pushing 350 hp and 321 lb.-ft. of torque. The body meets Super Taikyu regulations. Inside, it’s all business, with carbon fiber door panels, a Recaro throne, six-point harness and a fire extinguisher. The price is a cool 28,350,000 yen, or just over $285k USD.

Lottery Hummer

Non-racing related. But worth blogging. $35,000 in worthless lottery tickets to get the job done. The couple’s work of art is called “Ghost of a Dream,” and the idea behind the name is that people often dream of buying a new car when they’re scratching off their tickets. The final H3 Lottery Edition looks incredibly true to life, and it includes windshield wipers, tires, tow hooks, and all its body panels made entirely out of lottery tickets. The rims are plastic molds lined with coins that represent the principal tool people use to scratch off the tickets.
