17 year-old from New Jersey recently achieved fame by being the first to “unlock” the Apple device. George Hotz, rigged the $599 iPhone to operate on any network with any SIM card. For his epic hack, Hotz was given a free Nissan 350Z and three 8 GB iPhones. All he had to do was hand over the compromised handset to Terry Daidone, owner of phone refurbisher and aftermarket parts maker CertiCell.
Doug Macmillan, co-founder of Los Angeles based Hondata drove his Acura RSX to four new records at the Bonneville Nationals Speed Week (Aug 11 through 17th). A rookie driver, Macmillan drove a 2003, two liter front wheel drive, Acura RSX in the G class altered coupe and competition coupe classes, competing in both gas and fuel categories. Over the seven days of competition, Macmillan set four records, with a highest one-way speed of 190.1 mph (305.9 km/h) in the G/FCC class (with nitrous oxide) and 172.mph in the G/GCC class (naturally aspirated).
The latest from the Air Jordan Spiz’ike line of sneakers comes this colorway inspired by various aspects from the original Air Jordan colors. The use of the Oreo on the plastic tips is definitely our favorite touch. An estimated release date should be mid December. Look for further pictures to surface in the upcoming future.
TMZ, and every other celeb-obsessive site on the web, is reporting that 17 year old Nick Hogan, son of former WWE superstar Hulk Hogan, is in serious condition after crashing his yellow Toyota Supra in Clearwater, FL. The crash occurred a little after 7:30 PM 08/26/07, where witnesses say that Nick and his friend were bombing down Court Street when he lost control and slammed into a median. The car spun around, hit a palm tree and was summarily ripped apart. Both of the occupants were flown in a helicopter to a hospital in St. Petersburg where Nick and his friend are listed in serious and critical condition, respectively. God Bless Nick and his family!
Honda recently invited select members of the automotive media to Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course to sample the track prowess of its new 2008 Honda S2000 Club Racer. Honda has stripped the S2000 here of all manner of civility. No soft-top, no radio, no A/C. In their place goes a curb-scraping front chin spoiler and a rear wing that will blot out the sun. In the end, only 1,500 examples of the S2000 CR will be sold, and they’ll all be bought by people who spend more time on an actual race track than the average Joe. For more pictures…click HERE
